HEDGEHOGS
Lockdown in the UK is perfect timing for all our native hedgehogs who are coming out of hibernation at this time of year...the roads are so much quieter, enabling them to cross safely.

SPIKE STITCH
131) Ch3, 1 tr in every st across
132) Ch3, 1 tr in each of the next 3 trs, *Ch1, miss 1 tr, 1 tr in each of the next 3 trs, repeat from * to end, finishing with 1 tr in each of the last 4 trebles (but don't worry if you don't have 4 just stick to the pattern).
I only had room for 2 trebles at the end...just make sure you are aware of how many you have when you start the next row as you will have to adapt the pattern accordingly |
133) Ch3, 1 treble in each of the next trebles depending on how many you have...when you get to the first Ch-1 space work the following treble down through the chain space and into the gap of the treble below on row 132. See photo. * now work 1 tr into each of the next 3 trs, 1 tr down in to the treble of row 32 under the chain space, repeat from * to end
134) Ch3, *work 1 tr in next st, *ch1, miss 1 st, 1 tr in each of the next 3 sts, repeat from * to end . The important thing here is to check that the ch-1 lies above the middle treble of the group of 3 trebles on the row below. Use the chart to double-check.
135) Repeat Row 133 making sure that you work 3 regular trebles in between each of the long trebles that drop down to the row below in the ch-sp.
136) Repeat row 134 again making sure that everything lines up correctly...you might have to adjust the start and the beginning to get the pattern to work.
137) Repeat Row 135.
