DAY 10 CORONAVIRUS CAL

COMFORT BLANKET

**Edit** I am having trouble uploading photos today so I will keep trying...

It is times like these that we all need a hug, or a warm snuggly blanket if a hug is not allowed...

PAY ATTENTION TO THE CHART HERE....IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTICE THAT THERE ARE 2 ROWS OF EACH FrPTr ON TOP AND BpTr  ON TOP. (but to be totally honest it really,  really,  doesn't matter as it will look wonderful whatever combination of the stitches you do!)

50) Ch3, 1 tr in every stitch to the end.

51) Ch3, 1FrP Tr around each of the next 2 stitches, * 1 BpTr around each of the next 3 stitches, 1 FrPTr arpound each of the next 3 stitches, repeat from * to the end.

Showing hook going around the FRONT of the next treble

Having pulled up a loop you now have 3 loops on the hook

Now yarn over and pull through 2 loops twice to finish the stitch.  1 FpTr made

Showing the hook around the back of the next stitch

Pull ups loop

Finish the stitch....3 BpTr worked

Now you want to make sure that the next sets sit above the sets below in opposite so you end up with a basket weave effect...2 sets of fronts on fronts then 2 sets of backs on backs. Look at the final photo below and the chart at the same time!

52) Ch3, 1 BpTr around each of the next 2 sts, * 1 FrPTr around each of the next 3 sts, 1 BpTr around each of the next 3 sts, repeat from  * to the end THE IMPORTANT THING HERE IS THAT THE FPTR GO AROUND THE FPTR BELOW AND THE BPTR GO AROUND THE BPTR BELOW

Showing 3 FrPTr on top of 3 FrPTr

53) Repeat row 52

54) Repeat row 51

55) Repeat row 51

56) Repeat 52

DAY 8 CORONAVIRUS CAL

"LIFE IS WHAT YOU BAKE OF IT"

or..."All you need is love and cupcakes"

With rather a lot more hours spent in the house than usual,  I have found myself baking again; yesterday I made mini quiches, a large quiche and also peanut butter banana muffins....all from ingredients I already had.  My 20-year-old son came into the kitchen asking what I was cooking...."it smells like Christmas in here Mum!"  So,  Happy Christmas everyone! (my daughter and I are planning to stay festive and bake sausage rolls this afternoon...yum!)

44) MAKE SURE THIS IS THE WRONG SIDE (not the side with the lemons on)  Ch1, 1 dc in the same place, now work 1 dc in every stitch across.

45)  Ch2, 1 tr in same place, ch1, miss 2 sts, *2 tr in next st, 1 tr in next st, 2 tr in next st, Ch1, miss 3 sts, repeat from * to end, missing the last 2 trs and working 1 tr into the last st. Don't panic if you are 1 or 2 sts out here just adjust evenly so that you end up with a tr at the end.

46) Ch1, 1 dc FLO (front loop only) in same place, *1dc in next ch-1-sp, 1 dc FLO in each of the next 5 sts, repeat from * to end. DO NOT DO THIS ROW TIGHTLY.

47) Ch2, 1 tr in same place, ch4,  *miss the dc in the ch-sp, work a 5tr-cl (a 5 treble cluster) over the next 5 sts, ch5, repeat from * to end finishing with 4 ch and a tr in last st.

Yo into first dc, pull up a,loop, yo pull through 2

yo into 2nd dc, pull up a loop, yo pull through 2 loops

yo, into 3rd dc, pull up a loop, yo pull though 2 loops

yo into 4th dc, pull up a loop, yo pull through 2 loops

yo into 5th dc, pull up a loop, yo pull through 2 loops so there are 6 loops on the hook

now yo and pull through ALL 6 LOOPS. 1 5-tr-cl made

48) Ch1, 1 dc in the same place, 4 dc in the 4-ch-sp, *6dc in the 5-ch-sp, repeat from * to end finishing with 4dc in the last 4-ch-sp and 1 dc in the last st.

CUPCAKES!

49 to 52  Repeat rows 45-48 one more time

Day 6 Coronavirus CAL

As we start to see evidence from all over the world that our planet is beginning to recover from our exploitation of its natural resources,  one of my favourite songs keeps working its way into my head...

♫♫ "I See Trees of Green..."  ♫♫

32) Ch3, work 1 tr in every tr to end.

33) Ch3, work 1 tr in each of the next 10 tr, *ch1, 1 BpTrR2tog (work a back post tr around the next 2 trebles below), ch1, work 1 tr into each of the next 12 tr, repeat from * to end, working 1 tr into each of the last 11 tr. (don't panic if you have 10 or 12). The important thing in this row is to ensure that the BpTrR2Tog lines up above the middle of the heart below...see the photo.

34) Ch 3, 1 tr in each of the next 9 tr, ch2, 1 FrPTr in each of the next 3 tr, ch2, * work 1 tr in each of the next 10 tr, ch2, 1FrPTr in each of the next 3 tr, ch2 , repeat from * to end, working 1 tr in each of the last 9 tr.

FrPTr  around 1st tr

FrPTr around the 2nd  one (the BpTr below)

FrPTr around the 3rd treble

35) Ch1, 1dc in top of last treble below, 1 dc in each of the next 9 tr, *ch2, now work 1Tr3 Tog over the next 3 Tr , ch2, , 1 dc in each of the next 10 tr, repeat from * to end finishing with 10 dc over the last 10 trs.
The Tr3Tog is the same as the Tr2tog we used in the rainbow ripple but with one extra yo.

showing the 10dc in between the 2 sets of Tr3Tog

The penultimate stage of the Tr3Tog...now just yo and pull through all 4 loops...

...then chain 2 and continue with the dcs

36) Ch1, 1dc in top of dc in row below, 1 dc in each of the next 9 dc, now work a 3Tr fan in the top of the Tr3Tog... (turn the work over to check where the stitch is ), *now work 1 dc into each of the next 10dc, work a 3Tr Fan into the top of the Tr3Tog, repeat from * to end, finishing with a dc into the top of the first dc from the row below.

Showing the 3Tr Fan in the top of the Tr3Tog

37) Ch3, work 1 tr in every dc across, and 1 htr in each of the chain spaces of the fans, but miss out the trebles of the fans.

Htr in the 2 ch-sp, trs in the dcs

38)  Ch3, now work 1 tr in every treble along but work 2 trs in the 2nd of the Htr each time. This is just to re-gain the correct stitch count. Have a count up and check that you have about 220 stitches now. If not try re-doing this row by taking out or adding more trebles evenly along the row.

Back to 220 stitches. Phew!
